Election Day 2008

I wanted to post this image today. It was sent to me by a high school friend of mine back in August of 2006 who had been working at the US Embassy in Kenya.
His wife (Carey) had gotten into a major car accident and was still healing from a broken wrist, ankle, and headwounds. The van she had been riding in was hit by a taxi head on and there were fatalities.
My buddy wrote about a party where he had met some of the major government officials in Kenya and one US Senator who was visiting his father's homeland. He ended the email with the comment

"Nice to know that the Junior Senator from Illinois (and future President) cares."

Looks like today, only two years later might be the day that he was talking about.
